Originally from Jura, center of France, Akroe lives and works in Paris. He designed records and identities for majors and small underground labels alike. He has been the art director for electro/hip hop label Institubes. He drew logos and motifs for clothing brands, such as Sixpack who he colaborates closely with.
He was given carte blanche for a month by the Galeries Lafayette department store, designing the windows of the flagship store in Paris, and creating interior decoration for the whole chain. His personal work is frequently exhibited, in France and abroad.
His work proudly enters the graphic collection of musée de la publicité (Musée des Arts décoratifs – Musée du Louvre).
After several years of research, Akroe has finished his “self-analysis through art” and now wants to gather all the elements he encountered in order to create a clear and panoramic view of the graffiti movement. He’s also working on a major project that will directly use tools and processes inherent to mechanical mass production. The results of this “industrial graffiti” work won’t be publicly shown before 2009/2010.
