I specially liked the lettering work for “Mise en Place”, an artistic event in Chicago.
My design work has taken a strong turn towards lettering and type, allowing my photographic work to truly become separated.
Hosted by the Pavement Group as a quarterly event. Mise en Place is a vibrant mix of theatrical readings, music and art, centered in the heart of Chicago’s young and inspired artist community. “Mise en Place” is a French term meaning “everything in place”. This phrase inspired high contrast lettering that defines a spectrum of thick to thin, implying everything in between. Flyers for the event embrace the same concept depicting a wide variety of changing background imagery.
